COOKIE POLICY

We use cookies to make our site easier and more intuitive. The data collected through cookies is intended to make the browsing experience more pleasant and more efficient in the future.

Information on the data controller and its contact details to exercise the rights of data subjects under Articles 15 et seq. of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 are contained within the Privacy Policy available on the site www.crimson-project.EU.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the terminal of the interested party (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the site the next time the same user visits. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the User’s hard disk or transmit viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the User’s web browser. Some of the cookies functions may be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookies’ refers both to cookies as such and to all similar technologies.

TYPE OF COOKIES

Cookies can be first or third-party cookies, where “first party” means cookies that have the site as their domain, while “third party” means cookies related to external domains.

An external party necessarily installs third-party cookies, always defined as a “third party”, not managed by the site. These parties may eventually install first-party cookies and save their cookies on the site’s domain.

Another type of cookies is the so-called “Flash Cookies” (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver specific content, such as video clips or animations, to remember settings preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device but are managed through a different interface than the one provided by the browser used.

NATURE OF COOKIES

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:

TECHNICAL COOKIES

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code).

They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website’s owner or manager. They can be divided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
  • analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where they are used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, to improve the performance of the site;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) to improve the service provided to the same. The installation of such cookies does not require the users’ prior consent (more information in the paragraph Cookie management below).

PROFILING COOKIES

Profiling cookies are designed to create users’ profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by them as part of web browsing. These technologies do not collect users’ names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses.

The use of profiling cookies requires the consent of the interested party. According to the measure (more information in the paragraph Cookie Management below), the User can authorize or deny consent to the installation of cookies through the “Cookie Management” section’s options.

In third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can either directly install or delete them). You can, however, manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites indicated in the “Cookie Management” section.

The User is therefore invited to check the site of the third party indicated in the table below.

THE DURATION OF COOKIES

Cookies have a lifetime dictated by the expiration date (or a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time of installation.

Cookies can be:

  • temporary or session cookies: these are used to store temporary information, allow you to link actions performed during a specific session and are removed from your computer when you close your browser;
  • persistent cookies: these are used to store information, such as your login name and password, so that you do not have to re-type them each time you visit a specific site. They remain stored on your computer even after you close your browser.

COOKIE MANAGEMENT

If you have already given your consent but want to change the cookie permissions, you must delete them through your browser, as indicated below, otherwise the cookies already installed will not be removed. In particular, keep in mind that it is not possible in any way to control third party cookies, so if you have already given consent, you must proceed to delete cookies through your browser (dedicated section) or by asking the opt-out directly to third parties or through the site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/le-tue-scelte.
